It is essential for every blogger, business, and company to make their social media presence as impressive as possible. The goal is to stand out and gain more followers and attention by creating content and campaigns according to social media algorithms.

Another way to say it is that attention is the new currency. Consequently, you need to invest more time and money to gain attention and play the games created by social media creators no matter what you want to achieve.

My objective was to show the flip side of social media where I reveal the alternative way of working on platforms without following the rules that social media engineers dictate and say that you don't have to adhere to their rules. I will share examples please stay till the end.

Quality over quantity.

Here I wanted to show the work of Mike as an example for you. I love his profile and I have sympathized with his page for quite a long time. He doesn't have K.... followers, he has only 7723 followers. But he has Loyal followers who are really interested in his work and truly engaged with him. Because what he delivers in his post is professionalism, true art, and creativity + he delivers a story through his photography. He doesn't need to post every day 3 times, he doesn't need to create content for every day. But what he does is, post one unique and interesting post with a beautiful minimalistic design and astonishing photos that will immediately catch your eyes and catch your attention, despite he doesn't do it so frequently.

What if you let go of all the requirements and needs that Social Media dictate and you will run your pages in your own rules? Let me disclose the alternative way of managing your business pages if you are one of those who doesn't like spending a lot of time and money just to be constant on Social Media in order to gain the attention of people. You need to understand that now in the time of Millenials, the amount of posts doesn't matter but the quality, usefulness and how interesting the post matters. This I call organic growth.

Social Media is unpredictable. They might change algorithms frequently based on social media usage behavior and you have to always adopt new techniques. But the one thing never changes -it is their general concept and idea of having your own page (profile) and visuals. If you have your own constant strategy that you can stick to, you will stand out no matter how many times they will change their algorithm.

Show true love, passion, creativity, and be real.

Here is another example of work by Panos. My favorite thing about him is that he captures life in the city through authentic and cozy photos. He doesn't make frequent posts, as I have known and followed him for a long time. In essence, he provides a glimpse into the simple life of the city and the atmosphere that creates a certain feeling. Besides having a vision, concept and knowing how to play with colors, he displays love, passion, and authenticity in what he does. Real, professional, and true work that people can fall in love with, without his need for constant posts or advertisements. He likes showing up in his own way.

Let me clarify it here. Social Media requires making constant posts of photos, videos, stories, information, reels per day. Minimum 3 times per day. Is that so necessary for your business? For bloggers, it might be different based on their daily lifestyle. In businesses, what if there is not enough activity to post three times a day? 3 multiplied to 7 days=21 and 21 multiplied to 30 days=630. Generating 630 events or ideas is a lot for your business. 630 multiplied to 12 months which is in a year you have to come up with 7560 or even more contents. You need to forget what you are standing for in order to catch up with Social Media requirements like content generation.

I would say that businesses could save more budget and work on their quality posts instead of quantity. Minimalism is the best answer for mass marketing.

Delivering the information you want to say in a really interesting, valuable, and concrete way with the accompany of interesting and creative posts will be better than trying to show many ideas.

Social Media Managers (SMM Managers) most of the time run out of their creative abilities to work on new ideas, they get exhausted, or burn out with overloaded content and campaigns which affects their creativity, generating good ideas, and how they deliver quality content.

Be transparent and professional. Know your worth so you don't have to work on gaining attention.

This is also one of my favorite pages that I love seeing. Society Limonta is an online shopping page for home household linens. As you see they have 35K followers but the post they have done for the period of their business lifespan it is not a lot. But what they have is a high-quality product and a very professional and strategic approach to communication style with the audience through a very deliberate, minimalistic, sophisticated style of visuals that tells about their quality, what they stand for. They have an idea of what to show, and which feelings to deliver like warmth and coziness, sustainability, and lifestyle. These are the factors that play a profound role, not the amount and quantity of posts. They don't do posts so often, they do not show up every day in your stories or reels. They simply create very quality content and they don't have to say huge words to describe themselves.

There is a question, How do you gain the attention of consumers or followers if you do not post regularly or constantly?

There was a little research done that posting less leads to better engagement if you will very carefully monitor. When you post less, the reach of your overall post is higher. The reason is that your post has time to circulate. Because of the algorithm, feeds are no longer in chronological order but created to what Instagram thinks we want to see. When people follow you, Instagram for example knows they would like to view your content. Even if Instagram doesn't show your posts to a majority of your followers at first, it can get picked up by the algorithm and end up on your follower's feeds later on. So it means not posting for several days and showing up once in a while totally works.

The good news is that they have advertisement tools that you can use.

Come up with just one amazing and interesting content whether it is a video or photo accompanied by storytelling or write an interesting caption with the target of more people. Just one ad gives a lot more value instead of running many campaigns.

It is more than enough compared to overloading your page with tasteless content that in the end won't look as catchy.

Be an influential and active person in your real life, not in social media.

Another example. Above is my favorite Spanish actor Miguel. He has 6.2M followers. This means you don't have to work hard on your Social Media if you are already a famous figure. But here I want to say that his page has a taste and vision that highlights his professional and personal life in a very accurate way. You need to be active, influential, and transparent in real life in order to demonstrate it in your social life. This applies not only to individuals but to companies and businesses as well.

Yes, I used Instagram mostly as an example, because the number one affluencial media is Instagram. However, the same principles can be applied to Facebook because they are integrated. It also works with other Social Media because each of the platforms tries to do a similar algorithm in terms of engagement but with a different concept.

Be an inspiring person or inspiring business. Be an example for others by solving the problems.

This last example of Jennifer Siebel who you probably know. She is a Public and Political figure, the Prime Minister of New Zealand. She has a huge engagement on her Social Media just because of her personality. She is an Inspiring, socially active, very powerful, intelligent, and of course beautiful young woman who has lots of accomplishments. Be yourself no matter whether you are developing your personal brand, or companies and businesses.

The last tip, despite how many times SMs change their algorithm and you have to change your strategies every time, stick to your own rules and goals rather than adopting their rules. Create your own ecosystem on your page and stick to it because your persistence wins.

Note, that these tips might not apply to every niche.
