Message for millennials!

I disagree with the statement that people in their 20s say: “I am still young, I still will have time to work hard and do the job, I will start doing it when it is convenient, for now, I want to have fun.”

Sometimes I hear what others say to me: “Common, you are still young, why are you hard on yourself, you will still have time to do everything you want. Everything has its own time”. Well, I do not quite agree with what they say to me. I will explain here.

I can surely say that one thing that they don’t understand is that exactly their 20th will define the rest of the years. You might think that you still have time, but you might not have the same energy you have now because you wasted it on nonsense!

Important years
Important years

I don’t say you should not have joy in your life but rather learn to work in a way that you can create a time and source to enjoy your life and the rest of your future. As Jim Rohn says: “Work harder on yourself than on your job (9-5).

We live in a world that is constantly changing, and moving fast and everyone wants and requires a lot more from you than your true nature is capable of handling. Many things can steal your energy, many things can waste your time, and many people and organizations can just use you, your youth, your energy, and your physical energy. You can easily end up being just labor. Professional wise some companies can just scam you. But at the end of all those things, you should ask yourself; “Do these all things and experiences serve me? Yes or No?”. Did you instead of creating and adding value to your life end up losing your all sources of energy?

By simply answering these questions you can gain a perspective!

Are there people, organizations, or activities that exploit your youthful enthusiasm without offering anything in return? Remember, your youth and energy are more valuable than the time itself. Use them wisely!

That is why in your years of 20th work on yourself, learn a lot, learn to navigate in the world, and work hard but smart so that in the end, you won’t regret that you have wasted your time and youth for things that didn’t create a life you wanted or dreamed of.

Your later years and your older self should be proud of you, proud that you used your 20th wisely.

I am a part of Millenial in my 20th now and have already things that I regret. I have already times wasted for things that didn’t serve me but oppositely I was ending up drained in all terms: professional and personal, financial and success-wise.

My conclusion to this: Your 20th is the most critical year to invest your time and energy wisely in things that will serve you the most, especially for your long-term goals and better life. I would better work hard now on things that matter so that my later years will be easy.

I speak from experience. As a millennial in my 20s, I've made choices I wish I could take back. They left me feeling depleted in every aspect of my life.

The Power of Now

The good news is, that you can learn from my mistakes! Your 20s are the prime time to invest your energy wisely and learn as much as you can. Focus on activities that serve your long-term vision for a fulfilling life. Your future self will thank you for it!
